Rachel and Taylor

  • Date Aug 17, 2013

After I was finished with Rachel and Taylor's family shoot we switched gears.. it was time for an engagement shoot! Rachel and Taylor still seemed to have some kind of engagement glow...he had asked her less than a few weeks ago. It was easy to collaborate with the two excited romantics...perhaps this is how they are much of the time :).
They met in highschool. Taylor first noticed her eyes, she his sense of humour (both, I might add, were helpful on the shoot :) During the shoot you could see how much of a gentlemen Taylor was, which was especially evident in how he treated the girl in the white lace dress. Rachel was coy, blushing as Taylor spoke softly in her ear so I could get a natural smile - honestly, even if I wasn't deliberately staring at them through the lens I would have been able to see romance. They were always looking out for each other, too. Whether it was the mosquitoes or a soar ankle, they looked for ways to care for the other person. Despite the mosquitoes nipping at us because of the setting sun, we caught the tail of a remarkable sunset! We saw it just in time to take some pictures in the spot where Rachel and Taylor had their first kiss. It was a story-book ending for a photographer.
Rachel is one of my childhood long-time friends, and I was so thrilled when she and Taylor asked me to do their engagement photos. You guys are so in love and it was beautiful to get to see that side of your relationship, thanks for having fun and being yourselves on the shoot! It was a great time. And thanks to Steph Chase for being a lovely assistant :). Here are a few of the shots.
