The Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation held a photo competition for their 2014 Saskatchewan landscapes calandar. Since I was travelling all over Saskatchewan this summer for weddings and other gigs, I thought it would be a good idea to give it a try :). And what do you know! I made the cover :D!
This picture was taken on the way home from a photoshoot in Lethbridge. I was awe-struck and so pleased to be back home in Saskatchewan. Rows and rows of bales, the rhythms of agriculture, reminded me of how connected we are to the land. I often don't appreciate how enormous the world is, and how it domes us into insignificance. But something about it is blissful.
On the technical side, just in case you're wondering how in the world I was able to take a picture that I'm in, I used the modern technology of tripod and timer. I set up the shot, and took a seat.
I also used multiple exposures, combining two pictures set at two different exposures, to get more detail in the sky without losing the bright colours of the grass.
Thanks Sask Corp!
