Jamaica

In March of this year, I was able to go to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The city of was flourishing with character and colours, but being seen as a white "American" tourist, and all that goes along with it, was an ugly reality. It doesn't seem to matter how hard you want or try to be a friend, the stereotype runs deeper. As much as you want to be equal, the closer you get to someone the more you realize how deep the chasm of culture seperates you.
Jamaicans are beautiful, their Island is beautiful, but for now I can only see it through the eyes of a tourist. A longing wanderer.

only?
