Penner Family Christmas, 2012

Penner Family Christmas, 2012. They asked me to take the family pictures this year and I was more than pleased to photograph my beautiful family at my Grandparents house.

I was able to experiment with Bokeh, since my Grandparents had a Christmas tree that made a lovely background for the photos. Bokeh is easy enough to do, and it's fantastic for making interesting backgrounds. Aperture at 1.8 almost wasn't  low enough! My next lens is definitely going to be the 55mm 1.4 fixed lens by Canon.
I also went wide with some of the more playful shots, about 15mm wide, but I like the telephoto look better (naturally).
In post I stuck with Lightroom. I used a slight vignette, clarity in a mask around the eyes and corners of the mouths, and upped the exposure just a tad. Black and white made the photos seem a but more romantic, and creamtone made them softer and a bit more inviting.
