From April 23rd- May 6th I was on the road with with a team of 7 other players and two leaders (Our Director Susan Goerz, and a Bethany College professor, Darlene Klassen), performing dramatic programs for churches and schools. It was unbelievably restful and enjoyable, not without challenges here and there, but with a real sense of God's delight. Our team did it all together.
As we drove through the plains and mountains and valleys I was in awe at the vast beauty that struck me once again. But my wonderment didn't stop with the landscape. The people we met, the leaders, the pastors, the families, they all had such hopeful love and open-handed lives. They were filled with joy, and were working towards the same goals we were. My own cynicism towards the church had to be re-worked, because so much good is happening; from prairie to coast.
Thank you to Bethany for allowing our team of artistic misfits to engage on this awe-inspiring adventure and bring hope and encouragement to youth and churches where we were welcomed openly. My own heart was changed and restored.
Thank you to Susan for leading us and believing in us from beginning to end. We all hope God takes what we've done and brings about immeasurably more good than we could ever ask or imagine.
